Carole is an equestrian rider and she has been passionate about horses from an early age. Today she is also actively involved in the racing world. After more than 10 years in charge of commercial development and events management at the Domaine de Chantilly, Carole started her own consulting agency in 2016. One of her key clients includes the French Jockey’s Association and she takes care of their communication and events which include the organisation of the Jockey’s annual gala. Carole is also a member of the organising committee for the 5* Jumping de Chantilly (premier show jumping event) for the last 10 years. She therefore has the ideal profile to forge links between the racing and equestrian worlds. Motivated by good causes, Carole is naturally enthusiastic to undertake the communication and events management role for Au-Delà des Pistes, to assist the retraining of racehorses in France.

Born into a family of horse breeders, Clotilde has developed an in-depth knowledge of the grass-roots of the industry, from the early work of young horses in competition to the training of racehorses. A racing enthusiast, Clotilde is fully devoted to Au Dela Des Pistes, with the objective of helping trainers and owners to find retraining solutions and offer their athletes a second life after the track. She is responsible for the placing of horses and for the referencing and approval of structures within the ADDP directory. 

Mégane MARTINS

A rider from a young age, Mégane plays horse-ball to a high standard, a discipline in which retrained thoroughbreds are omnipresent. With a masters degree in Sports Marketing, Mégane discovered the racing world when working at an equine balneotherapy centre in Normandy before joining ARQANA. She also has practical experience preparing yearlings at the Ecurie des Monceaux and rides out in racing stables for pleasure. Mégane has followed the development of Au-Delà des Pistes since its creation and has participated in many theme days with her horse-ball mount OUTOFBOX who retired from racing in 2018. She joined the association in January 2023 to manage the placement of horses and the referencing of retraining structures.

Marie-Christine CHOURAQUI

37 years of professional career for the Aga Khan Studs, including 2 decades with Nemone Routh, Marie-Christine has seen hundreds of horses born and run under green and red coats. Very concerned by the well-being and retraining of racehorses, she joined Beyond the Tracks from its creation as a volunteer.Since February 2020, Marie Christine has been taking care of all the papers for reformed horses entering the Au-Delà des Pistes network.

Aliette FORIEN

President

Aliette is the great grand-daughter of Gabriel Guerlain, the founder of the Guerlain perfume brand, as well as the Haras de la Reboursière et de Montaigu. The family stud is situated close to Gacé in the Orne region of France. Aliette took over the management of the stud with her husband Gilles Forien over thirty years ago and was more recently joined by her daughter, Sybille Gibson. The stud regularly presents yearlings at the Arqana Deauville sales and has bred winners throughout the world. Aliette was also an accomplished showjumper in her youth and she incarnates the complete "horse woman".

Alix CHOPPIN

Vice President

Alix, who studied at HEC, discovered the racing industry via the Grandes Ecoles Championship. After having ridden as an amateur rider (the last two horses she rode at the races are both living a happy retirement under the care of her parents), Alix worked in communications in Newmarket. There after she joined the FRBC (French Racing and Breeding Committee) and then the think tank, Generation Galop, before taking up her position as the Director of Marketing and Development for Arqana.

Lisa-Jane GRAFFARD

General secretary

Irish-born Lisa-Jane grew up surrounded by horses. Having graduated from the Godolphin Flying Start programme she has spent the last ten years working for Darley & Godolphin, one of the world’s largest owner/breeder operations. Since 2009 she has represented His Highness Sheikh Mohammed’s racing interests in France. Godolphin’s passion for the sport of horse racing transcends the racetracks, with an ultimate goal of having a lasting impact on the sport throughout the world.

Nemone ROUTH

Treasurer

After having grown up in England, Nemone joined the Aga Khan Studs three years after arriving in France after having worked for the International Racing Bureau in Paris. Today she works as the Racing Office Manager for His Highness the Aga Khan and is based at the Aiglemont Training Centre in Chantilly. Nemone is also a member of the Bloodstock Management Team, which oversees the racing and breeding decisions of the Aga Khan Studs.

Henri BOZO

Board member

After working and travelling extensively throughout the world to learn about the horse racing industry, Henri succeeded his father, Antoine, as the manager of the Haras du Mezeray at the age of 27. Four years later, Henri was recruited to manage the Haras des Monceaux in order to develop the structure internationally. Today Ecurie des Monceaux is one of Europe’s leading yearling consignors and breeders.

Olivier DELLOYE

Board member

Born into a family that has been involved in racing for many years, Olivier worked for sales company Arqana between 2006 and 2016. Then, from 2016 to 2024, he held the position of Managing Director of France Galop, the authority which organises horseracing in France. He has now returned to Arqana as Managing Director. Equine welfare in general and the retraining of racehorses in particular are at the heart of his priorities, hence his commitment to the Au-delà des Pistes association.

Adeline GOMBAUD

Board Member

Adeline Gombaud is editorial director of Jour de Galop. This daily web newspaper is devoted to flat and jumps racing and covers all aspects of the sport: racing (runners, results), breeding (stallions, crosses, births…), sales and industry, in France and internationally. Since 2020, Jour de Galop also features podcasts under the JDG Radio banner. Jour de Galop campaigns for equine welfare and has been committed to Au-Delà des Pistes since the creation of the association.

Louise BENARD

Board member

Passionate about horses, it was during her agricultural studies that Louise discovered the racing industry with Alban Chevalier du Fau. After some management studies, she gained experience in Ireland, graduating from the Irish National Stud in 2014, and in Australia, both in the breeding and training areas. After five years with Lisa-Jane Graffard, in 2022, Louise was appointed Godolphin's representative for the interests of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum in France. Volunteer for Au-Delà des Pistes since its creation, she was as well President of the charity “Aux Courses les Jeunes”.

Amélie LEMERCIER

Board member

Amélie became involved in racing while working for the Wertheimer Brothers’ breeding operation alongside her studies in business. After graduation, she gained international experience with the marketing agency of Coolmore and with Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand, and then joined the Aga Khan Studs as marketing assistant for four years. In 2018, she was accepted on the Godolphin Flying Start programme and notably enjoyed stints with trainer Graham Motion, Elite Sales in the USA, Newgate Farm and Star Thoroughbreds in Australia and Godolphin in Ireland. After the Godolphin Slying Start course, Amélie joined the team of Al Shaqab Racing and Haras de Bouquetot as commercial development manager.

Constance POPINEAU

Board member

After managing the legal department of the French Equestrian Federation for 7 years, Constance took over as the Manager of the French Breeders Association in 2017. Also a member of the Tribunal of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and of the anti-doping Commission of the French Tennis Federation, Constance works daily to help create a strong connection between the fields of sport and racing.

Camille THOMAS

Board member

A rider from a young age, Camille chose to become a veterinarian in order to combine her passion and her work. She discovered thorougbreds through her first job at Chantilly in 2010, and then worked for Baker & McVeigh from 2013 until 2022. She is now a partner in a new operation, EquiCare equine veterinary practice. She continues to ride as much as possible, notably racehorses in training in the mornings. Her favourite part of her job is following the daily evolution of racing athletes, so it was logical for her to commit to their retraining and second careers. Racehorses are extremely endearing animals and it is important for the racing industry to play a role in their future.

Nicolas DE CHAMBURE

Board member

Managing director of the Haras d’Etreham for ten years, Nicolas de Chambure is a member of the board of directors of Au-Delà des Pistes, a charity which he has supported since its creation. A graduate of the Irish National Stud programme, Nicolas also increased his knowledge thanks notably to experiences with Goffs, Three Chimneys in Kentucky, David Hayes in Australia as well as with Magic Millions. Passionate and committed to the racing industry, he is also a board member of France Galop, responsible to supporting young members of the racing sector. 

Blanche DE GRANVILLIERS

Avocate spécialisée en droit équin

Equine lawyer and passionate about horses (Racing and equestrian rider), from owner parents and a sister rider and coach, Blanche thinks that the actions of ADDP to help the retraining of racehorses are great and needed. Their scale shows that the whole industry is involved and that we are committed to offering them the best future after their career on racetracks.

Véronique DELAUNEY

Web and Graphic Designer

After several trips to the USA, Veronique joined the Aga Khan Development Network as a web and graphic designer. In this capacity Veronique is often working with the Aga Khan Studs team on various projects. A horse rider in her spare time, Veronique is naturally concerned for the welfare of horses during the various stages of their lives. She has joined the Au-Delà Des Pistes team by volunteering her web and graphic design skills to the charity.

Zuzanna LUPA

Photographer

Originally from Poland, Zuzanna studied animal sciences in her home country where she participated in an exchange programme with the USA and she discovered the famous Juddmonte operation. After having worked in the breeding industry in New Zealand, since 2010 Zuzanna has settled in France and she works as head of the broodmare band for the Haras de Saint-Pair. She is a passionate photographer and she has always been fascinated by photographing horses. She has been a professional photographer for the last two years.

Charlotte BERTRAND

Bénévole

Born and raised in the Chantilly area, Charlotte began riding at an early age and chose to follow agricultural studies with the aim of working in the equine sector. After a masters degree and work experience in yearling sales in the USA, she decided to pursue her career in racing. She has worked for the Aga Khan Studs since April 2017 as assistant racing manager and joined the ADDP team of volunteers for the inaugural “Retrained Racehorses” theme day at Chantilly racecourse in October 2017. In October 2017, she acquired her own retrained racehorse, Monsieur Playboy, whom she rides in dressage and hunter classes. The values of ADDP make perfect sense to Charlotte.

Estelle FERNANDEZ

 

A horse enthusiast from an early age, Estelle worked in the horse racing industry for 10 years. Today, she is committed to improving the future of these horses.

Ciara O’CONNOR

 

Ciara O'Connor has been assistant manager at the Haras de Montaigu for 16 years. Originally from County Kildare in Ireland, she studied agriculture and equine and worked for 6 years in the breeding industry in Kentucky (USA). Mum of 3, Ciara owns a thoroughbred mare and another riding horse!

Marianne SIMONNOT

 

Marianne is passionate about horses and discovered the retraining of racehorses through charity Ecurie Seconde Chance. After law studies, she enrolled upon a masters in Equine Science and Management in order to work in racing. She believes that retraining is an essential part of the industry, and she was given the opportunity to find out more about the subject close to her heart during what she describes as a “fascinating” work placement with Au-Delà des Pistes.

Jean-Baptiste André

 

An amateur rider and breeder, Jean-Baptiste is involved in the equine sector as announcer at equestrian competitions and international events (London Olympics 2012, World Equestrian Games in Normandy 2014). A graduate of Sup de Co Toulouse, he began his career with the Haras Nationaux before joining the Aga Khan Studs team to take charge of the maintenance of His Highness's four French studs. In parallel, he is also an auctioneer at Arqana sales.

Sybille GIBSON

 

Mother of Camille and Thomas who are also Au-Delà des Pistes volunteers, Sybille has worked for the past 5 years alongside her mother Aliette Forien, president of the Association, with the aim of taking the reins of the family stud, the Haras de Montaigu. Formerly employed in direct marketing in Paris, Sybille is an unconditional lover of horses, having interacted with them in a wide range of activities: racing, breeding, show-jumping, driving and leisure activities. She is delighted to be able to support the noble cause of retraining racehorses.

Pascal CHOURAQUI

 

A great-grandson and grandson of jockeys, son of a racehorse owner, godson of triple champion jockey Jean Deforge, and a rider himself for several years, it is fair to say that Pascal has racing in his blood and he is a loyal supporter of horse welfare.
