Retrained Racehorse Day returns to Deauville Racecourse on Saturday, August 28Cancelled last year due to Covid, one of the most appreciated events by the public in Deauville makes a comeback at La Touques Racecourse on Saturday 28 August. The Retrained Racehorse Day is organised by Au-Delà Des Pistes in partnership with France Galop, and showcases thoroughbred racehorses who have been retrained at the end of their racing career for all sorts of equestrian disciplines.Thoroughbreds are often perceived by hobby riders as fiery and even dangerous horses. However, after a period of time spent in a specialised retraining centre such as those referenced by Au-Delà Des Pistes, they prove to be extremely versatile and can adapt well to polo as well as horse-ball, dressage, show jumping, so-called ethological riding... As the association's slogan on social networks says: #theycandoanything!During the event, several ex-racehorses will perform ridden demonstrations with their new owners. The Haras de Boscherville, a structure referenced by Au-Delà Des Pistes located near Beuzeville, will give a horse-ball demonstration, the Polo Club of Deauville will present former racehorses that participate in summer tournaments, while dressage and jumping demonstrations will also take place in front of the stands. At the end of the demonstrations, spectators will have the opportunity to register to meet the horses in the stables as well as meet their riders. All the horses taking part in the demonstrations will also be presented to the public in a large parade, alongside champion racehorses such as the Wertheimer's retired star performer SOLOW, the winner of five Group 1 races in France, Great Britain and Dubai, as well as the Aga Khan Studs' champion VAZIRABAD, that scored in 13 Group races, that was recently entrusted to Eugenie and Robert Danloux in order to evaluate his dressage skills. For professionals and racing enthusiasts, this day is a unique opportunity to see these legends of the sport once more! Finally, to find out all about retraining and to support the association by becoming a member, Au-Delà des Pistes invites you to visit its stand at the entry to the racecourse from 12 noon.
